Hondius Project Vote Results

I have had several inquiries regarding the vote received from our Hondius Annual Meeting on August 1st (and subsequently via email, mail, and in-person ballot gathering) regarding the question of whether the Hondius users approve the proposed USDA funding of a new water system, which would be operated by the Town of Estes Park.

The results of the vote that was received indicate 57 properties “for” and no votes received “against” out of approximately 75 Hondius user properties. Additionally, we have received a few Non-Hondius property owners that have indicated they want to join in. As a result, the HWUA Board is attempting to move forward with the Town to make the project a reality.

Also, FYI, Frank Huffman has indicated that we will see how the weather goes, but with the forecast warming trend coming this weekend and into next week, he expects that shutting down the water service to winter users will likely start in mid-October, but will be dependent on the weather.

Thanks all.

Jim
